The woman in this story asked for an abortion to protect her health during the first trimester. If not for Dobbs, that choice would have been hers. Instead, she got increasingly sick for another 2 months, and then died.
NEW:

In 2024, Tierra Walker was sick and getting sicker. She was also pregnant.

She knew abortion was illegal in Texas, but thought there was an exception for women like her, whose health was at risk. Doctors told her there was no emergency.

Then she died.

Walker is one of several women ProPublica found with underlying health conditions who died when they couldn’t access abortions.

Our healthcare professionals need to speak out
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Victoria’s husband has cystic fibrosis. Without health insurance, his medication costs $300,000 per year.

Republicans’ failure to extend ACA subsidies means that Victoria and her husband won't be able to afford their insurance.

These are the stakes for working people in this fight. We cannot cave.

Everyone in healthcare should be speaking up against this aggression. The injuries and mental trauma are absolutely unacceptable. We need to prosecute the excessive violence and pave a way for people to sue. We (occasionally) have those guardrails for police, the standard should be no different.
Excessive force. PERIOD!

They called them “violent mobs,” but the violence came from the guys with badges and body armor.

📌 Keep sharing videos, everyone, because they’re evidence.

Think about this for a minute. Half of $187 for a *month*.

If avoiding a painful and disfiguring rash - and potentially permanent nerve pain and nerve damage - isn’t enough for you, multiple studies have also shown that shingles vaccination can lower dementia risk, possibly up to 20%
In the US: If you're 50 or older (or 19/older & immunocompromised), please get vaxxed against shingles. It's no joke.

Astonishing turn of events over the course of about 12 hours.

Judge Olguin ordered DOJ to cough up the names of the attorneys who did the (apparently incomplete or erroneous) reviews of material required to be disclosed to defense counsel.

Rather than comply, DOJ is dismissing the case!
Oh nooooo!!!!!!

The government has decided that it is not in their interests to explain to the judge whether they knew the "victim" here had a criminal record.

Holy hell public defenders might gets us thru this shite.

Want to see how far right the Republican Party has gone?

Watch George H. W. Bush and Ronald Reagan answer a question about illegal immigration during a 1980 debate.

If it “seems” professional, just hire a professional. 1) support the industry you want professional work from and 2) seeming legit and being legit are not the same.
This AI tsunami will have unimaginable consequences.
….you need to read and understand your contracts. You need to have your contracts read and understood by someone who a) understands the purpose of contracts & b) has *your* best interests at heart.

Please, for the love of god, do not rely on some corporation's "AI" to "summaries" your contracts.
I just received a contract on Docusign for review and signing, and it offered to give me an AI-generated summary that I could read instead to save time.

That's AN AI-GENERATED SUMMARY ***OF A CONTRACT***, in case you need to let that sink in.

Another way of saying this is that available evidence indicates Trump has repeatedly used his control over the US military to commit murder. Rand Paul can, like anyone, see that. The question is whether he and his colleagues will do anything about it. The answer is apparently no.
