It is a bribe and the shame of this will outlive them. I’m not naive, but these people are not fit to own or run a media company. They’re so poor, all they have is money.
Details of the Paramount settlement with Trump over 60 Minutes lawsuit:

- $16 million for Trump presidential library
- Release of transcripts in the future
- No apology

I think about this commercial a lot, especially at times like this, when outsider takes on NYC are cresting. The discourse is never any more sophisticated than this.

he's really incredibly appealing in these videos.

idk that it's going to be enough to win, but the anti cuomo wing has found a very personable and engaging candidate with a comms team that does actually seem to know what it's doing.
Andrew Cuomo knows: moving to New York City can be hard. But voting here shouldn’t be.

This is not hard. What you do is, you set aside your precious little checklist, and YOU DON'T VOTE FOR THE AWFUL PERSON.

Patti Lupone fixes the sound bleed from a musical next door to her play (common issue with pop musicals next door to plays), an actor in the musical publicly (and absurdly) accuses her of racism, another Bway actor publicly agrees with the charge, Lupone gets angry. And people are mad at Lupone?

Fascinating (i.e. terrifying) to watch "religious liberty" come to mean heresy policing. But this is America.
Co-sign all of this. I encourage people to read the underlying post, which is gobsmacking for reasons beyond their implications for non-Orthodox Jews. It suggests that if your religious beliefs don’t have the structure of Christian faiths, you may not have free exercise claims at all.

Begging someone to tell me what the difference is between what Sean Duffy and Andrew Cuomo have been saying.
Duffy: "She wants to take people off the road and she's taxing people to do it, raising money for the subway system in New York. But then, to put people in the subway -- the subway is dirty! There's violence. There's criminals. It's not safe ... By the way, I like freedom. Let me drive my car."

To conservatives, "freedom" means "I get to do whatever I want and someone else has to pay for it."
Look, you big pathetic baby. You can drive your car. To access one small part of NYC by car, you have to pay slightly more than the amount those of us who ride the subway do to take a round trip. Stop crying, Sean Duffy.

Neil Gorsuch told some of the most obvious, farcical, easily debunked lies I can remember a justice telling. I promise you could spend an hour trying to guess what he says is a picture of a “sex worker” in a children’s book, and not get anywhere close. ballsandstrikes.org/scotus/pride...
I Think Neil Gorsuch Is Lying About a “Religious Freedom” Case Again
Why did Gorsuch claim that ‘Pride Puppy’, an alphabet book about a lost dog, introduces kids to bondage and sex workers? Let’s find out!

WOW, I never thought of Corey Booker like this. He is pretty impressive. I imagine he is earning an incredible amount of respect nationally...
Booker: Do you think we got the right to vote for women because a bunch of men on the House floor got together and said “on the count of three, women get the right to vote..” That’s not how it happened… Change doesn’t come from Washington. It comes to Washington.

This is a big time move from Brad Lander @nyccomptroller.bsky.social

He’s standing up to the biggest of the big—the Blackrocks of the world—and demanding that they move on climate

Finally someone playing the same game as the red state treasurers but on behalf of the future!
We won’t bow to pressure to move away from our climate commitments.

Today we're demanding the retirement systems’ managers strengthen their #NetZero plans consistent with their fiduciary duty—or we will find new managers who will.

Watched the first season of Mid-Century Modern. Perfect. It's our Norman Lear gay sitcom, better late than never. Who'd've guessed Matt Bomer would be our hero, devoting his career to telling the story of a generation of gay men who've been, and still are, often dismissed, laughed at, and erased?

I'm seeing people who don't live in NYC look at this photo and bemoan the lack of a vision for the city from leadership, but the reason for this is a lot less lofty - there's a bunch of people who spend all their time yelling at electeds about parking and driving, and electeds who agree with them.

OMG, how much do I LOVE a NYS Elected weighing in with an easy-to-read, clear, informative personal endorsement list for NYC Mayoral primary?!? Now, I want ALL NYS and NYC Electeds to do the same, (and I’ll assume those who don’t are okay with having a washed up sex pest as mayor.)
In my personal capacity, I am going a step further and endorsing a full slate. I believe each of these people would bring a fantastic change to city hall.

In this crucial election, when the stakes are so high, people should rank 5 candidates — just not Andrew Cuomo. 3/
