For my fellow Jerseyans, you should reconsider any support for Fulop. Apparently, he was too busy campaigning to cancel this, despite the presence of genocideists and the following sequence of events being utterly predictable.

Report: JC Jewish Community Organizers Lead Protest of Israel Flag Raising
Yesterday (April 30, 2025), 50-60 Jewish organizers and their allies protested the israeli flag raising event at Jersey City City Hall. Billed as a celebration

This might seem insignificant given that it's Belgium, but remember that it's home to Fabrique Nationale, which has been a longtime small arms supplier to many countries, including Israel.

*tapping the sign*
The right-wing shift on hating psychotropic medication (but especially Adderall and related meds) is particularly disgusting. It flies in the face of objective evidence and lived experience of ND folks, and its "Medication is for the weak/lazy/gross disabled people" just reeks of fascism.
People with ADHD who are properly medicated appear to have much lower substance abuse rates than people who aren’t medicated, per this study.

Adding extra irony to the current DEA moral panic.

We all got a glimpse of a strong welfare state, then let it lapse. Now Dems may try to adopt the GOP stance that government spending raises the COL, when it's actually the opposite.

Public preK alone saves me a shit ton of money, even taking my property taxes & state income taxes into account.

This election really feels like it has the potential to be the final nail in the coffin for any semblance of representative democracy, not one in a series of dominoes.

I don't know how you pull out the rest of the nails, but winning the Presidency every four years just doesn't seem sustainable.
Today's Supreme Court order effectively guts a federal guarantee against systematic voter purges just before an election, defying Congress' explicit command without bothering to explain why. It's an incredibly dark omen of things to come. slate.com/news-and-pol...

Forever referring to the GOP as "the Party of 9/11" from now on.
Look, if you think the party of 9/11, Afghanistan and Iraq, the Great Recession, the COVID crisis and 1/6 can magically orchestrate an autocratic takeover the US flawlessly I would like to know why. I do think however, there are many ways in which a flawed takeover could be really really bad.

Is it me, or are articles like these on "positive/progressive masculinity" just incredibly tiring and essentialist? Like, why should a man (assuming he isn't a misogynist) care if a positive character trait is "masculine" or "feminine" or not?
