There's literally no reason for Congress to exist if any random freak in the presidential orbit can nullify laws and seize federal funds. All of this is plainly illegal, but Mike Johnson leads the most corrupt Congress in US history (and by a wide margin.)

History gives us plenty of examples of disease used as a weapon. There are fewer cases of governments deliberately using disease against their own citizens. We are living (or dying) through one right now.

Today's violation of Estonia's airspace by Russian military aircraft is an extremely dangerous provocation.

This marks the third such violation of EU airspace in days and further escalates tensions in the region.

The EU stands in full solidarity with Estonia (1/2)

What a time to be teaching a course on Propaganda… Seems like every day of class I need to rethink the lesson plan. But students themselves are making connections with the materials from the past that we are studying to what is happening currently.

The remarks weren’t “about Charlie Kirk,” they were about how this administration is using Kirk’s death as an excuse to shut down critics … and they responded by proving him completely correct.

Just so everyone is clear, this right here is what an actual violation of the First Amendment looks like. When the head of the FCC says a company needs to do something about someone who displeased the administration or lose its license, that’s no joke unconstitutional

Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a stunning statement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, declaring that “all of Ukraine is ours.” In his address, Putin described Ukrainians and Russians as “one nation,” reigniting global fears of a full-scale annexation

The fact we have secret police whisking people off the streets doesn’t get enough attention. It ain’t normal and we’re further down the road to authoritarianism than you think.

It has been suggested to me several times, by a number of people, the Russia's invasion of Ukraine has nothing to do with history. Further evidence that history is a vital framework for understanding the conflict. (And, yes there are other frameworks too.)

The benefit of the minerals deal between the US and Ukraine is that there is now an invested interest from the US in the success (and existence) of a free Ukraine. Horrible that this was a transactional arrangement, though.

I gave my presentation on propaganda stickers at the Scandinavian Study conference. Lots of interest in the theme, and a fun topic to delve into. I would love to find some way to expand on this topic, maybe toward an eventual book project.

This is a crime. And once again, this is also NOT "deportation." Without due process, this is snatching people and sending them to foreign country they may have nothing to do with. For life. This is kidnapping.
The Dallas ICE office is involved in a mass removal effort targeting nearly 200 people — many without removal orders — scheduled to be deported to El Salvador today.

This is not just cruel – it is lawless. I refuse to stay quiet while families are being torn apart, and lives are being put at risk.

This is not about one man. MOST of the people Trump disappeared have NO criminal record. Yet they had no due process, and have no outside contact.

Merwil—reportedly grabbed by mistake.
Arturo—a musician.
Andry—a makeup artist.
No record, no explanation.
