The irony that Native people, original inhabitants of this land, now are forced to prove we are legal citizens of this land! The SAVE Act is bullshit for that reason alone, but also because tribal IDs do not meet the requirements of the bill stating “place of birth.”

Right now, incarcerated people are risking their lives to battle the LA wildfires. Their reward? At most, $26.90 for a 24-hour shift. This is exploitation pure and simple. They have almost no pathway to a career in firefighting after their release. Follow @antirecidivism.bsky.social for updates.
