It was a beautiful Sunday in Portland. Farmer’s markets, the Portland Marathon, peaceful protests, and some views of Mt. Hood. This city is vibrant, peaceful, and resilient. We do not need a federal occupation, and we sure as hell don’t want one.

I had been doubtful that we were going to have a "this is the crisis moment" with Trump, as opposed to "everything about this is a destructive catastrophe."

But the Abrego Garcia case is the crisis moment.

The president who in 2020 had unidentified federal agents deployed against protesters is now encouraging a foreign dictator to build more prisons to accommodate "homegrown" "criminals," as he ignores a court order to effect the return of a guy sent to a foreign prison without any due process.

NEW: An @npr.org review of thousands of pages of records across more than a dozen federal lawsuits finds an alarming pattern across agencies, where DOGE has given conflicting information about what data it has accessed, who has that access, and most importantly — why. w/@jennamclaughlin.bsky.social
DOGE says it needs to know the government's most sensitive data, but can't say why
DOGE staffers have skirted privacy laws, training and security protocols to gain virtually unfettered access to financial and personal information stored in siloed government databases.

This, of course, is top secret intelligence shared in the chat.
The point being when Tulsi Gabbard testified,
“Senator, I’ll reiterate that there was no classified material that was shared”

she perjured herself

Either everyone has a right to due process or no one does. Why? Because if you create categories of people who “aren’t entitled” to due process, all the govt has to do is SAY you’re in that category. They don’t have to be right or have evidence, and you have no chance to prove your innocence.
