The Trump administration is now seeking to generate leverage against election officials by threatening them with criminal prosecution. We know where this ends.

No sales tax on gun silencers? This is crazy shit.
Rep. Dean: "The senators voted on this not knowing exactly what was in the bill. I bet they loved the part about no sales tax on silencers. Really, folks? We want to make silencers more plentiful in this country at the behest of the representative who owns gun stores? Conflicts of interest abound."

The top .1% stops paying into social security by January 19th.

Scrapping the cap would generate up to $388 billion per year and keep Social Security solvent.

Social Security is only being depleted because we refuse to make people pay their fair share.
Social Security's insolvency date is now a year earlier. Here's how it could impact your benefits.
Social Security is dipping into its trust fund to pay current retirees, with spending outpacing its revenue from payroll taxes.

Helicopters.

Armed troops wearing masks.

All for a freaking military-grade raid at a flea market that appears to have resulted in two measly arrests.

DHS and ICE are out of control.

When the Trump assassination attempts happened, Democrats were among the first to call out the political violence. But now, that seems to only run one way. That’s how badly Trump has damaged the soul of the Republican Party. open.substack.com/pub/joycevan...

There’s a growing list of things that worry me but almost always on top is a lack of trust. People don’t know who to listen to.

Leaders, elected officials, companies, neighbors, media all have different stories which make it impossible for the average person to fully believe and trust anyone.

My daughter just had her first performance review at her first job (movie theater). Stellar marks. Coworkers and managers love working with her. She's loyal and reliable. Customers give positive praise.

They made a big deal about her raise: 17 cents. Under 1%.

Why bother?

Happy Lunar New Year. As a young buyer out of college, I have so many fond memories of the beautiful celebrations in China.

Today, we're eating dumplings and noodles and doing very little cleaning so we can hold on to the new year's energy. We need all the good fortune and luck for the year ahead.

Well, it's official: I'm here!

It's been on my ever-growing to-do list for weeks but "I'm on Blue Sky" was the most frequently repeated phrase by reporters at the media day I attended yesterday.

Pretty sure the cool kids are here, right?
