In addition to growing food plants, it's a good idea to grow some flowers too, as they all attract pollinators, and some others also attract other beneficial insects. Marigolds attract mantises, and zinnias attract parasitic wasps, so I have both. Anyways, check out this zinnia.

my big fucking maine coon cat was still having flea problems after his monthly dose of flea medication, so I did some research and the solution was to shave a patch on his back and give him a second dose right there close to the skin, because he's so chonky he can handle it.

I started 9 seeds from last year's white ghost plant but they haven't germinated yet, might not be viable. I might buy more.

I went to the store to buy salsa ingredients and already had tomatoes in my cart when I saw that the tomatillos looked good and were on sale, so I made both kinds, roja and verde. split it up in smaller containers so I can freeze half for the next time I want salsa.

my salsa verde is hitting so good I'm thinking of growing tomatillos this year. powdery mildew and hornworms killed last year's tomatoes after a small harvest, and hornworms might still be an issue with another solanum species like tomatillo, but they might better handle the humidity.
