Hier z.B. schreibt @andreageier.bsky.social über den Film-Klassiker "Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel".

Friendly neighborhood biologist here again. I’ve been seeing lots of post on how simple biological sex is. Since sex in society is such a hot-button issue these days, we should be able to find the basis of biological sex in law, right? Let’s do it! Let’s find the basis of sex, round 2! 🧵
Friendly neighborhood biologist here. I see a lot of people are talking about biological sexes right now. Lots of folks make biological sex seem really simple. Well, since it’s so simple, let’s find the biological roots, shall we? Let’s talk about sex...[a thread]

This is going to trigger another round of abuse for this woman but the basic facts appear to be that she was separated at the time and so was the CEO. She recoiled on the jumbotron because her husband was attending the same concert.
At a Coldplay concert in July, Kristin Cabot appeared on the Jumbotron in the arms of her boss. Cabot retreated, trying to make things right with the people who mattered most. Now, for first time since that viral moment, Cabot is sharing her side of the story. trib.al/I8tWdU4

Living in Tokyo for years, and knowing what it is to take care of and love a baby - this movie just hits different. I've always loved Tokyo Godfathers, and I'm really perceiving how much a film - a concrete, solid thing - can evolve and change as you do.

Missing Kon Satoshi again today.
Tokyo Godfathers is one of the best films of this century. A key reason is that it portrays Tokyo with an almost overwhelming level of care and detail.

Satoshi Kon and his team moved mountains to make this film's world feel real — as we explore today: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/satoshi-ko...

So yes, do both if you want to, while being aware that one activity is useful and the other is futile. But be aware that for most population obsessives, it's either/or, and is used to avoid moral responsibility and effective action.

Because the issue of population change is so widely misunderstood, here's a short thread which seeks to lay it out simply.
It explains why there is almost nothing anyone can do to change the global population trajectory, both as numbers rise, then as they fall.
