Opinionated but try to admit when I'm wrong. I drink too much on Fridays and I am going grey, getting fat and I make an involuntary noise when I pick things up from the floor.
Ooh. I'd like to dive this.

I see #bbcqt is platforming Reform Ltd again. With a Tory defector. And a Tory MP. No Lib Dem, despite them having more MPs in Scotland than the Tories. Reform have precisely none. #bbcbias

No one is talking about it yet, but this will soon be the most important question in British politics:

How can the country’s broken electoral system be fixed?

Similar results, our data analysis shows, can yield strikingly different outcomes

The pedophile and drug lord protector.

The economy crasher.

The domestic terrorist.

The least popular president of all time.

A major loser.

Australia just recorded zero cervical cancer cases in women under 25 for the first time since records began in 1982. The amazing result of HPV vaccination.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

Illegal immigration isn’t tearing the UK apart.

The far right is tearing the country apart, using immigration as a pretext.

A useful reminder that withdrawal from the ECHR is an epically stupid policy.
A wave from Brussels, my diplomatic home for nearly three years, where everyone keeps asking me why Britain would want to commit another act of self-harm by withdrawing from the ECHR. It's viewed so differently here.

This should be seen not as an immigration issue for the Home Office immigration department to address but as a much wider cross-government issue of lack of legal enforcement of minimum wage, company director responsibilities, trading standards and more.

The BBC headline with "migrants" is already terrible and plays into the far-right narrative. And the solution to asylum-seekers being exploited by criminals is to allow them to contribute by working legally rather than making them survive on a pittance.
Crime network behind UK mini-marts is enabling migrants to work illegally
Undercover reporters were told how easy it was to make big profits selling illegal vapes and cigarettes.

Andrew Tate has been charged with rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution and actual bodily harm. Nigel Farage described him as "an important voice for young men". That tells you all you need to know about Farage's moral compass.
