So - I'm sure it's already happened, but was it Farage or the Telegraph who was first out the gate saying people at the Yaxley-Lennon march yesterday had "legitimate concerns".

I mean, I don't know what concerns legitimise racism, but apparently they exist...

Please can someone give me something to be pleased with about the current government? Because honestly, the proscription of Palestine Action is the straw that breaks my camel's back. I want more than "we've not gone as far right as the Tories and Reform" because that's too low a bar...

Somehow the "We need to support policies that are popular" crowd never land on the very popular polices like "taxing big corporation more," "making health care more affordable," or "paying teachers more."

It's always just "be 10% more racist."

I like that the guy telling the administration how much they've buggered up on security is called Castro
Castro: "The idea that this information, if it was presented to our committee, would not be classified, you all know is a lie. That's ridiculous."

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

With Reform getting the usual piles of media coverage, does anyone have any usual summaries of their actual policies, and comparisons to other parties? I'd just rather be able to quote *why* they're awful, with solid examples, beyond the "hugely racist vibes"

I know this is hardly groundbreaking, but I've just made some replies and comments to people about House of Lords reform, and I've been pleasantly surprised by people engaging in the arguments, rather than just shouting incoherently. Long live that spirit!

Earlier this year, the Hawaii Supreme Court published a scathing critique of SCOTUS' bogus originalism and Second Amendment extremism.

Now Clarence Thomas has finally responded. And it's clear that the lower court's withering takedown got under his skin. slate.com/news-and-pol...
A Court Called Out Clarence Thomas’ Gun Extremism. He Didn’t Take It Well.
It’s never been more obvious that the Supreme Court’s gun enthusiasts are making it up as they go along.

Looking for opinions on Louise Haigh's resignation. As far as I can see,she resigned because of a fraud conviction in 2014.Not defending the wrongdoing-but I imagine this is a spent conviction, and in the spirit of rehabilitation, is this a resigning matter?Genuinely hoping for illumination on this!

This comic I made about how to get sterilized when you have ovary-based fertility always gets really popular during times like this. Asking for a hysterectomy is usually rejected, but procedures like salpingectomy and endometrial ablation are much more accessible and have a shorter recovery time.

A bit late to the table on this one, but about the recent UK budget: I am 'lucky' enough to have a car. It's fairly fuel efficient - to get into my office or costs me a bit less than £3.50 return. How on earth is it sane that bus, which is slower and less convenient, is the more expensive option?
