If you don’t think Trump is compromised, ask yourself how Ghislaine Maxwell got a meeting with Todd Blanche and how Putin got a summit on American soil.

USA Today's Rex Huppke is one of very few reporters covering 47's blatant cognitive failures:
Nobody knows what Trump is talking about anymore and no one seems to care | Opinion
During Trump's rambling announcement that he's sending the National Guard to DC, it became clear he has caught Sleepy Joe Biden's cognitive decline.

No agency insignia at all on their uniforms, so this is likely not DEA or ATF or FBI or Border Patrol. So probably it’s DHS, most likely ICE.

And yeah, the comment about “liberal” is really telling. These guys are wildly unprofessional.
While masked agents were violently attacking a delivery worker this morning, bystanders repeatedly asked to see their badge numbers but they refused.

Bystander: You guys are ruining this country, you know that, right?

Agent: Liberals already ruined it.

So many folks are, rightly, going to lose their shit over this. It's absurd, fundamentally wrong, stupid, and dangerous — all at the same time.

As a political scientist who studies countries that managed to stop the slide into authoritarianism, I can assure you that ***refraining from provoking the authoritarian*** is not how it works.

Without further ado, I will now go tear out another chunk of hair.

Rest in power Jimmy Carter. He lived long enough to vote for Kamala. Now he can rest and be with Rosalynn.

Here's to Jimmy Carter, a great man who the country did not entirely deserve. He also, not coincidentally, appointed my Father-in-Law to be a federal judge, which is a reminder to me that people of integrity who love the law & believe in justice can fill those positions & make us a better country.
