As good a metric as any for "cut through" with the median British person is Mail Online comments. More than 2k means a story is a proper talker. Normal people are taking notice. The Vance story currently has 3.3k comments in just a couple of hours.

Always confused when UK commentators seek to understand what Farage says and does purely on the basis of domestic political tactics.
Perhaps the man just means what he says? As in, he sympathizes with Russia, resents Zelensky, loathes the EU, &thinks of Trump as a kindred spirit?

So much of the bus fare cap discourse is exposing who the fare cap is really targeted at, electorally: people who don't take buses but like the idea of someone else taking one.
Just to be clear - bus fares have not "gone up 50%" - some bus route prices may rise to the new £3 cap when its raised (that will be up to the bus companies) but the cap was not compulsory - some bus companies weren't part of the scheme - and even for those that were, many routes were not included.
