There’s a brilliant photo of Corbyn posting with activists holding signs calling on him to do this – having assumed they were asking him to do that, rather than that the signs were *aimed* at him.

It was early in his leadership, but was an interesting sign of his mindset and how it hadn’t changed.
If you want to understand Corbyn you just need to remember that he signed a petition against his own decision not to appoint another Shadow Mental Health Minister instead of just appointing one
Watched Jeremy Corbyn broadcast live on Sky News this morning launching his/your party. His final peroration was "we are going to seize it with both hands, build that party, build that society - and campaign forever more for real socialism and real social justice"

Having a great first day as the OBR's website manager. Got all of the content queued up as a scheduled post, ready for a big day, but all of the work is done now.

Now before I put my feet up, time to take a big gulp of water and check the latest news.

As bad as your day might be, it could be worse, you could be the person who accidentally published the OBR's budget document a couple of hours early: obr.uk/docs/dlm_upl...

Given the grave threat to democracy in America I’m surprised that the figure isn’t much higher
NBC's new poll say the most important issue for deciding who to support for Congress is: "Protecting constitutional rights/protecting democracy."

If you agree, I suggest you subscribe the news outlet that focuses like a laser on just that. Sign up for Democracy Docket today. hubs.ly/Q03M8rql0

Pay attention -- what he means is allowing Democrats to win a free and fair election.
Trump: "We can never let what happened in the 2020 election happen again. We just can't let that happen. I know Kash is working on it, everybody is working on it. And certainly Tulsi is working on it. We can't let that happen again to our country."

Amazing story in The Times. Reform UK failed to pay VAT to HMRC on its sales (tickets, merchandise). About £400k in all.

Not tax avoidance. Not tax evasion. They just didn't realise when you sell stuff you have to charge VAT.

To put a finer point on it. Trump’s contention isn’t just that he can deport people without them appearing before a judge, but that he can render them into a life sentence in a foreign dungeon with no process whatsoever.
President Trump asserted on Tuesday that undocumented immigrants should not be entitled to trials, insisting that his administration should be able to deport them without appearing before a judge.
Trump Says Undocumented Immigrants Shouldn’t Get Trials Before Deportation
The president claimed that countries were sending their prisoners to the United States and that he needed to bypass the constitutional demands of due process to expel them quickly.

Zelensky is being forced to plead with Trump that his own country, which has spent so much blood and endured so much horror, is allowed to be at the negotiating table about its own future. That's where we're at- a return of great power politics.
