When the president is destroying national landmarks, murdering fishermen, raising prices because he's angry over a Reagan video, and kidnapping parents in front of their crying children is probably not an ideal time to have a lazy, completely incompetent legislative branch perpetually on vacation.

Congrats to Lisa Murkowski on voting for a bill that she herself admitted was not ready in hopes that the House would change it. Now it’ll become law. She had the power to stop it, and instead chose to become complicit. That’s her legacy.

Credit where it is due - at least “Our bill will kill you” is a lot more honest than “it doesn’t cut SNAP or Medicaid.”

I generally legislate to improve lives, not end them. But that is why we have two parties.
GOP Sen. Joni Ernst responds to voters saying that cutting Medicaid will kill them: “Well, we all are going to die.”

Today in the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I emphasized the urgent need to expand federal investment in public transit as part of the next infrastructure package—to improve mobility, reduce emissions, and ensure communities of all sizes have access to reliable transportation.

I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.

Hero.
I’m about to board my flight to El Salvador, where I hope to meet with senior government officials to discuss the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to see Kilmar and check on his condition — and remind him that we won’t stop fighting until he’s home.

One thing I wish people understood about authoritarianism is life often looks more or less the same. Troops aren’t marching down the street every day; people go to restaurants, have their office jobs. But everyone knows that stepping out of line, even slightly, can derail your life with no recourse

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

Trump and Bukele claim they can't release anyone from CECOT

BUT THEY ALREADY HAVE: at least 9 detainees El Salvador released back to the US in the last 3 months

NINE other people freed. Why not Abrego Garcia, who's there on an "administrative error"?

DEMAND HIS FREEDOM NOW

By boosting domestic production, using Canadian materials, and backing new Canadian technologies, we’ll get the job done.

Remember Fiona Hill? She’s now sounding the alarm again: “We’re definitely on a path toward full-on state repression. There’s no question about it. I’ve thought about this for an extraordinarily long time.” When Fiona speaks, we should all listen.
