🧪CDC’s former statements on vaccines were based on science, not whims.
This is quite possibly the most damaging headline I think I’ve ever seen from the @nytimes.com

It’s not merely “CDC’s position,” it is established scientific fact

Portraying RFK Jr as a brave, swashbuckling maverick—out there challenging “scientific orthodoxy”—is astoundingly irresponsible
Breaking News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he personally instructed the CDC to abandon its position that vaccines do not cause autism. The move underscores his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy — in this case, that vaccines save lives — and bend the health department to his will.

So does that mean they are against Medicare, the VA, and USDA commodity supports (among many other socialist policies in the US)?
BREAKING: The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

Eighty-six Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the measure, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

Screening pregnant people alone will not be nearly as effective as providing first Hep B dose at birth. So worse public health outcomes. Proposed CDC recommendations are from people who do not understand epidemiology or infectious disease.

The Supreme Court should not even be entertaining this. The fact that we’ve reached a point where the basic, bedrock promise of America birthright citizenship is up for “discussion” is a national disgrace.

So sad that it has come to this (and so quickly), but it has. CDC used to be my go-to for accurate and true information. I'm using Health Canada more often.

Reframe the argument.
Note for Democratic politicians: you don't have to start your condemnations of ICE raids with "We all want to catch violent criminals, but..." Just say "These raids have nothing to do with catching criminals and everything to do with terrorizing innocent minority groups."

Congratulations, Department of Education. You’ve officially outdone yourself. In a move so absurd it almost feels like satire, the DOE has decided that nursing is no longer a “professional degree.”

The education department no longer considers nursing as a professional degree program, which can weaken funding for students wanting to enter the health care field.

Wtaf!
Chiropractors are now considered more professional than nurses by the Department of Education? All I know is I've never dissected a patient's vertebral artery or sold overpriced wellness supplements that do absolutely nothing except make your pee smell bad
I’m sorry that I don’t have anything intelligent to say right now because I am so fucking angry

How awful. This is outright health disinformation, lying to the American people. Not only is there massive evidence showing no link between vaccines & autism, there’s not even a plausible mechanism based on what we’ve learned about the genetics of autism, some environmental exposures in pregnancy
HEADS UP: CDC website now officially asserts that vaccines may cause autism.“Studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.” Also says the “vaccines do not cause autism” header remains b/c of an agreement with Cassidy.

What’s so pernicious about this is that science works by testing a hypothesis (call it H1) vs the null hypothesis (H0). The burden of proof is on those asserting H1 as correct. This gets our standards of proof completely backwards. This is an attack on the very foundation of scientific epistemology.

RFK Jr. constantly and consistently defies promises made to Senator Cassidy yet Cassidy sits on his hands. Neither of the oaths that Cassidy has taken (as a physician and a Senator) should let this stand.
RFK Jr had committed to Bill Cassidy, as a condition to win his vote, that he would keep website language.

Cassidy in February: “If confirmed… CDC will not remove statements on their website pointing out that vaccines do not cause autism.”

Note the language in second photo.

I feel for my friends who are still at CDC and are trapped there. They did not sign up for this an dare not happy to watch the downfall of what was once a great and respected agency.
This is completely disgusting. Today, the CDC updated their vaccine safety page. It now says:

“The claim "vaccines do not cause autism" is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism”.
