Mum to four, grandma to two children and Reggie the Shih Tzu and Minnie the Maltichon. Family, friends as well as just being kind and decent are the most important things to me. Partial retirement keeps my brain alive - and pays for holidays and wine.

More extraordinary still is the sanitising of Kirk's politics. Kirk was - and this is just a straightforwardly factual statement - a far right activist. And here's a former British Prime Minister not merely mourning his death or condemning his murder but actively *praising* his politics.
We don’t yet know who killed Kirk or why. Not that you’d know it from the endless numbers of accounts on X with huge follower numbers, including British politicians, making as yet unknowable claims about the motivations behind the murder.

Exhibit A. Extraordinary stuff.

The BBC are constantly fawning over Farage's every move despite Reform only having four MPs. Our national broadcaster should reflect the whole country, not just one man’s ego.

YES! Thank you...

Say it again, and again, and again. They are not "illegal immigrants".

Silencing the drumbeat again: seeking asylum is legal
Hundreds protested in Ashington against so-called "illegal immigrants" - though seeking asylum has been legal since 1951

It is very nearly the tenth anniversary of that brief moment when, for 2 or 3 days, British newspapers remembered refugees are desperate human beings who need our help, rather than scum that it's okay to threaten with violence.

68% of those arrested at the Farage Riots last summer had previously been reported for domestic abuse. You know, the ones claiming their violence was a response to concerns about the safety of British women and girls.

Asylum Seekers who receive £9-49 a week make up 0.6% of the UK population. So are the “genuine concerns” about migrants generally. And are those people concerned about getting served food and drink whenever they want, whatever they want delivered to their door and their parents being cared for?
