Two days ago it was Elissa Slotkin. Last week it was Jerome Powell. Before that, Mark Kelly. Weaponizing the justice system against your opponents is an authoritarian tactic.

The only person not being investigated for the shooting of Renee Good is the federal agent who shot her.
Breaking news: The Justice Department has issued subpoenas for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey as part of an investigation alleging that they are impeding federal law enforcement officers’ abilities to do their jobs in the state.

All of global politics is really just to distract us from this horrible fact
This is obscene.

That others in politics can’t or won’t say that this is obscene hits at the heart of the problems we face.

I've consistently called for Labour to put up taxes ON THE WEALTHY.

Labour's SOLEMN PLEDGE not to increase income tax was insanely stupid.

But they made the pledge. It was their signature promise in the election.

Ripping it up now will destroy Labour - and further wreck faith in democracy.

Critics dismiss this as “pie-in-the-sky socialism.” But what they truly object to is something more fundamental: the notion that democratic governments should guarantee people’s basic needs, even if that means intervening in markets.

Starmer seems physically incapable of making a good political decision
Keir Starmer, who insisted last month that leaving the ECHR “would be a profound mistake" that should be resisted at every turn, has told MPs to abstain on the Reform bill to do so
I’m told Labour MPs have been told by whips to *abstain* in the vote on Nigel Farage’s ten-min rule bill on leaving the ECHR, which has left some furious. Whips’ arguments seems to be to just ignore it. Labour MPs worry it leaves Lib Dems/Greens looking like only they care on this.

I don't understand why this is not happening?
Great discussion at TWT on how the left must unite — Your Party and the Greens — to keep Farage out of Downing Street.

But unity isn’t uniformity. Your Party will be truly anti-imperialist: no diplomatic ties with a genocidal, apartheid Israeli state and no greenwashing NATO.
