If @theguardian.com who had 10.5 million followers on X can leave, so can you.

There's absolutely no excuse for staying.

I have huge admiration and respect for The Guardian for taking a stand and living up to their name.

If you're a good person you should follow their example and leave X.

Qué cautivante y especial el disco nuevo de Blood Orange. Ecos de Arthur Russell por todos lados, pero con un dejo más sentimental y emotivo. Muy bonito.

Oasis stadium jaunt ends (for now), it has been odd seeing how massively they’re loved, and also odd that it is seen as churlish to critique it. For me, they inescapably represent the worst of the 90s, the banterous homophobia, the conservatism. It made life miserable & I struggle to get over that.

I wonder... Does anyone have any source about potato domestication/strawberry domestication in South America? And/or any source on how these plants traveled from South America to Europe? #AcademicSky

New paper! 🥳📜 We reviewed 275 ecology & evolution journals: only 38% mandate data sharing & 27% mandate code sharing. 📉

We share recommendations to help close this gap. 💡

You are not Making a Difference there. You are not Fighting the Good Fight. You are not even Maintaining a Community you couldn't easily replicate elsewhere.

You are propping up a right-wing site and, worse, you are being warped by your constant exposure to it and you don't even realize it.

Leave.
No matter what #Musk says or does, many on the left continue to post on and pay for X, a clear example of how progressive movements are beholden to the narrative that we don't have to change anything at all about our lives to achieve our political goals.

I wrote about why that's bad in July ⬇️

Fascinating story/history!
1/ Today for #FossilFriday, a short thread about a strange “magma” of fossils 🦴

It may not look spectacular, but it tells an extraordinary story of palaeolithic horses, fossilized corals, “this is Sparta” hunting myth, and - since we’re in France - fine white wine.

This was real! The "maker" ;) was Marco Balderas, and they kindly shared the PDF for any who might want to print/make their own!

Goes without saying anyone who wants to make/post their own version has my blessing, support, and gratitude!

Career highpoint, for me, this.

To all the Professors, Postdocs and PhDs out there, please ask students under your supervision how are they doing, and if they have any personal problems that might be affecting their research process. Don't take for granted that the only worry in their minds is their thesis #AcademicSky
