There seems to be a date bug which affects some GPS chipsets (started 17th Aug). If your GPS is showing dates around Jan ‘06 then it’s likely the same issue. See QRP Labs forum post here:

Another example of the issue:

I asked AI to create an image of a “Jocky Wilson Trophy” for reasons which are complicated… the result is superb! Presume AI knew it was for a joke so put the darts the wrong way round for comedic effect 🤔

I hope this new law is worded carefully and properly thought through as any transmitter is potentially a “signal jammer”… 🤔

Went down a YouTube/Wiki rabbit hole on the subject of atomic clocks and frequency standards after watching this video. Amazes me how this was all worked out so long ago by some very clever people. We take so much for granted today.

Nice video looking at history of Ethernet standards. I remember mid-90s working with legacy “thick net”, “thin net”, UTP Ethernet with hubs (collisions and broadcast storms!), & token ring (FDDI). And a CTO who later bought into ATM to the desktop! What a mess…

This may be of interest to the radio community in the UK: Radio4 LW 198kHz switch off date isn’t official from what I can find, but this information from OFGEM says that the “radio teleswitch” (RTS) service is due to end 30th June 2025 which depends on the 198kHz signal.
