Test drove the Geely EX5 last week thanks to Everything Electric YouTube video. Lovely car from the same parent company and more affordable. I think it will do really well. Your blog about hybrid cars was spot on!

I tried it, but I’m sorry to say it’s not good… bit of a downgrade. Too much text and wasted space. For starters, compare wind details between beta and exiting app. Also, cannot even scroll hourly forecast between days… 🤔

The safety systems in modern cars are far better at staying alert than an average human. I use lane keep assist on the motorways all the time, and if you’re stuck in traffic the “follow the car in front” cruise control is so nice. Can’t see a problem with any of it… safer and easier driving.

Funny how experiences can differ… when I first drove an automatic in 1997 (trip to USA) I couldn’t believe how easy and relaxing it was compared to manual transmission. Felt like we were being ripped off over here by being charged more for autos. Got a Merc B class auto in 2006 and never looked back

👍🏼 upgrades which you don’t notice are the best!

Did you notice any difference with “Zara”? I skimmed the new features list and the changes seem mostly cosmetic?

I remember my thermodynamics lecturer getting very excited about heat pumps in 1992: “1 unit of energy in, more than 3 out!”. It has taken too long to embrace this technology due to the usual resistance to change and FUD.

Pretty sure MS are just trolling us now… What with the Win10-11 forced hardware upgrade, Copilot crowbarred in everywhere, broken updates (my laptop told me I had to install “Win11 repair edition” yesterday to fix broken automatic updates - no joke!). Migrating all family off MS by end of the year 🥳

Looks like a decent upgrade with HDMI and Ethernet ports for starters… if it’s priced competitively then it should sell very well! 👍🏼

This page specifically mentions the GPS date bug affects (at least) the MediaTek MTK 2503D chip with a built-in MT3333 GPS. Workarounds are given in the PDF linked in first comment…

Any idea of maximum drive size it will recognise? 2GB? 😬 I’ve got an IDE to Compact Flash adapter which might work with a memory card partitioned to a small size? Let me know if you want it - happy to post it.

I like Raspberry Pi’s for running 24x7 stuff like PiHole, Homebridge, NAS etc. But many bargain small PCs on eBay etc. which are way more powerful than a Pi and cheaper - bought a Lenovo V520s 8GB RAM 500GB SSD i5-7400 for £35 inc delivery - felt a bit guilty! Many for sale as Win11 not supported 🙄

Is a Pi4 powerful enough to run FT8 properly? On a busy band does it not run out of time and so you miss some decodes/stations?

What power supply are you using? 16.4V seems a bit high… 🤔

Must be tape type if no other switches for that function? Tape types were more complicated than I remember!
