Economic growth doesn't help to fix poverty when all the benefits of that growth go to the rich, because they have enough money to simply hoard all that cash. The wealthy need to pay their fair share of ALL their income.
Economic growth is not the catch-all answer to fixing poverty and inequality.

My grandfather used to say, "if you give that man enough rope, he'll hang himself." This fits perfectly with Donald Trump. He's a loose cannon who is on a King's power trip. Dems could just do nothing, and still capture Congress in Mids. But they need to fight everything in court and campaign now!
