Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

The government of Colombia said this week that it had recovered a cannon, a porcelain cup and three coins from the wreckage of the San José, the Spanish galleon that was carrying a haul of gold, jewels and other goods when it sank in an ambush near the port city of Cartagena in 1708.

A giant deep-sea isopod (Bathynomus giganteus) filmed by the ROV on Okeanos Explorer at a depth of 810m (2,660 feet). This huge underwater 'pill bug' measures nearly 30cm (almost 1 foot), as indicated by the ROV's red laser dots, spaced 10cm apart.

There’s enough money flowing through these LLM companies to found and endow ten new Harvards and keep right on going. Think of how much they could have given back to scholarship if they’d cared. We should have no compunction about making them pay for the work they exploited.
