Took a little to find him a new gig - but Kevin Rudd will finish up as the US ambassador in March and return to the Asia Society as it's president.

So Australia has given in to America in all forms.

What is the end game here? No publicly funded cultural events that aren’t approved by Israel? No arts boards that aren’t pro-Israel? The sections of our political class and media who are active in this attempted gutting of our cultural landscape need to ask wtf they are doing here.

Really strong story from @newcastleherald.bsky.social about the Hunter Region’s role sending F35 jet fighter weapons parts to Israel for its genocide in Gaza. The F35 regional hub in Williamtown isn’t for Australia’s defence, it’s a US controlled global weapons hub run by the US, for the US

In the 70s and 80s Aboriginal people asked for Treaty, but we were given reconciliation instead...

Cupcakes and platitudes are not reconciliation.

Reconciliation action plans are not reconciliation.

Reconciliation is not Treaty.

Reconciliation is not justice.

Labor have just approved a 45 year extension to our most polluting gas project faster than Peter Dutton said he would if he won office.

They sold out to their fossil fuel donors a long ago, and it's never been clearer.

Dutton's policy is to give people who can already afford to enter the housing market a tax payer subsidy for five years on the repayments they can already afford to make. It does not increase supply, help lower income people get a deposit, or enter the market. It's a tax break for the wealthy.
In all the talk about Dutton bringing his son on the campaign trail to try and prove he 'gets' the housing market issues, one thing is missing – his housing policy only benefits people like his son who is already wealthy enough to get into it live.australiainstitute.org.au/2025/04/aust...

So, just noting that all the attention given to Katharine Deves for her anti-trans views last election, that the Libs had to pretend didn’t represent them, is now quietly embedded in their official statements. Too bad if you’re a gender-questioning kid in a family that denies you exist.
It seems to be the same for all LNP candidates, including Dutton
