This is Manolo. His family invited strangers to spend time with him on his last day. His mom said, "This was such a perfect way to celebrate the life of a dog who truly loved spending time with people and their dogs. Run free and fast forever, Manolo. I will never stop missing you." 14/10 for all

Pope Leo XIV has blasted how wealthy people live in a “bubble of comfort and luxury” while the poor suffer. In his first teaching document Thursday, Leo confirms that he is in perfect lockstep with Pope Francis on matters of social injustice.

I would just remind folks that Elon Musk is neither a rocket scientist, nor an automotive engineer. Sam Altman is not a computer scientist. Elizabeth Holmes is not a doctor. David Shor is not a data scientist. And Ezra Klein is not a trained public policy analyst.

So this absolutely tracks.

friends with large accounts, I'm not going to pester you personally but just generally speaking, I would sure appreciate a signal boost on this thing. We seem to have leveled out, and since this is a one-shot (won't be in bookstores) I'd like to get it out there as much as possible.

We all know Niemöller’s words: “First they came…”
But who was he really?

A Nazi supporter turned prisoner, whose late reckoning still challenges us today.

For the record.

My posts were not even about Kirk directly, but about America's apathy towards political violence, and the coddling of white male shooters and hate peddlers.

I was fired because I mentioned race: white men and violence-- that was my "gross misconduct."

Whoa.

That's a sprite, an elusive, high-altitude electrical discharge from a thundercloud photographed by NASA astronaut Nichole Ayers from the ISS earlier today.

With reported sightings going back more than a century, this phenomenon was first photographed in 1989.

Today I looked up the article that turned me into a cosmic acceleration-obsessed teenager.

I went on to work my first astro job with one of its co-authors.

Here it is, from a special issue of @sciam.bsky.social devoted to the then-new discovery that space-time is accelerating.

Today, he stood watch at a courthouse: ICE agents were “standing there covered with masks as we walked toward the courtroom. Eventually the agents scattered and went away”
