This is, by some distance, the most unforgivably stupidest thing the government is doing. An easily sellable proposal, which would actually help Brits, and unlocks meaningful negotiation. Irrational and anti-growth.
NEW: Yvette Cooper rules out a youth mobility scheme between the UK and EU: "That's not the right starting point for us at all."

Brussels is demanding one as part of the government's "reset" of relations with the bloc.

What power? Musk and Cummings can rant and rave all day but they don't have any power over us that we're not giving them ourselves. Treat him like the childish 4chan internet troll he is, not like the all-powerful sinister Bond villian he wants everyone to think he is.

The article I’ve been waiting for (I even asked my optician if there was something wrong with my eyes) - Why have car headlights got so bright — and what are the dangers?

Why have car headlights got so bright — and what are the dangers?
Dazzling headlights are responsible for at least 280 collisions a year, and a trade in illegal super-bright LED upgrades is thriving

A useful article by the BBC on Elon Musk and his interventions on child sexual abuse. Produced by the Verify, rather than the news arm, and currently situated fairly low down on the BBC News site... A report like this should be given prominence, considering how Musk's claims led the UK's news agenda
How Elon Musk seized on baseless memo claim to create wave of misinformation
The X owner shared false claims that a Home Office memo urged police not to intervene in child grooming cases.

This needs to be taken very seriously. All donations that originate from abroad, no matter who is the final donor, should be banned. Only UK citizens should be allowed to donate to British political organisations

‘Betraying Brexit’
Such a moronic accusation.
What does it even mean?
Having a functioning relationship with our own continent?
Not being diplomatically incontinent?
Finding ways to collaborate and improve opportunities, travel and trade?
Great.
Brexit betrayed us
Very happy to betray it right back.

"This is something else Nigel Farage has in common with Donald Trump, who plays to middle America before retreating to his gated community in Mar-a-Lago, where memberships start at $1m.

"Farage and Trump are happy to be the voice of the people, provided they don’t actually have to mix with them."
Meet Nigel Farage’s new moneyman
Nick Candy, the billionaire property developer, is now in charge of Reform’s finances. Now people will see Farage’s “man of the people” act for what it is – a sham

From Italy: "The lesson is clear. In a globalized world, isolation leads to irrelevance. The UK's separation from the EU deprives it of collective strength. America's increasing focus on its own interests highlights the vulnerability of a single nation attempting to navigate global challenges alone"
The UK now realizes Brexit was a mistake - ItaliaOggi.it
Europe has reason to be concerned about the effects of Donald Trump's announced protectionist policies on its production systems. However, the harshest blow may land on the United Kingdom, which left ...

Also the UK, every energy firm making 4-10x profits.

I’m not going to leave X just yet - I hate that sense of being driven away from a place I used to love. But after one day on here, I already know how much prefer it.

So if you see this and would be kind enough to share it to let people find me, that would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

I'd encourage Conservatives not to hitch their wagon to this particular star, before any indication of how it works when in power. The Johnson/Cummings vibes are pretty strong in the Trump/Musk bromance. It may fall apart spectacularly, disastrously, hilariously, and soon. ~AA
