The retirement of the MetroCard at midnight tonight is bittersweet for me. In 1983, as a young lawyer, I took a year's leave of absence from my law firm to serve as special counsel to Richard Ravitch, chairman of the NY MTA. He gave me the task of leading a study ...
It's the final day of MetroCard sales—so as we say farewell to an icon, let's take a look at how it all started.

Thank you, MetroCard, for moving New York to the very last swipe.

I for one will not stand for this misappropriation and overuse of internet terminology that has gone on far too long, at some point we need to stand ten toes down and say enough is enough.

Woolies reaction to Netflix Bebop Ed is genuinely one of my favorite displays of raw human emotion ever put to camera. It's basically theater for me. The moment his eyes widen in shock. The knuckle bite. Art.
anyone have any idea what Woolie is reacting to here

Its so demeaning to the life of work they put into their art, and it must suck to have to argue that your work is in fact your own.

If you can draw, that's really cool, I think you are great.

i think if you ride public transit enough you learn that most weird behavior is not dangerous, and conversely i think driving a car teaches you that everyone is trying to kill you at all times

Here's a photo of my friend and colleague, Jorge Bautista, getting shot in the face with a flashbang grenade. The ICE Agent is so afraid of Jorge (who was posing no threat) that he has wet himself. Please share this photo. Everyone needs to know what cowards ICE agents are.

Back in 2004, CBS aired a sci-fi Legal Drama called Century City starring Viola Davis and Ioan Gruffudd that took place in the year 2030 where Oprah is currently president.

Please bear witness to how insane these two paragraphs are on its Wikipedia page.
