I should lean more into coping with my own weirdness. I'm alone for stretches of time and don't converse much, but there's often times I think of something I want to discuss with people. When that happens I usually forget it before I get the chance. Gonna start writing them down.

I'm gonna try to be more casual about my posting and stuff.

I feel as though the way I've used this platform has been silly, in that it hasn't been silly at all. I am too frivolous of a person to doggedly pursue a single-minded purpose.

I've always sucked at posting, so I should enjoy it at least.

Again I say: how fucking interesting that remote work technology is bad and not worth adopting despite all research pointing to productivity gains, but genAI which offers NOTHING is so important to adopt and force on people who have no use for it despite all the horrible things genAI does

The older I get, the more my politics mature from childish, naïve beliefs like "the world is complicated and leaders have to make hard decisions" to more serious, adult principles like "hurting people is bad and helping people is good."

To all the "They deserve it for voting Republicans" jackasses:

Tell the Democrats to RUN FUCKING CANDIDATES! 16,000 Republicans won their races in 2024 WITHOUT AN OPPONENT! 50 Republicans got into the Kentucky state senate unopposed! The party completely abandoned us and half the goddamn country!

Why are they trying so hard to wriggle out of taking credit for it when they liked it before? Can't they just brush it off like every other ghoulish thing they like? Do they think the Dems will actually attack them for this? What are they afraid of? Did this upset some donor? What am I missing?

I'm surprised it's not a winning strategy to say that my enemies are spot-on correct about all the problems, but maybe they go a little to far and are too blunt about it, so you should vote for me, who will do the exact same policies but in a way that is half-hearted and equivocal.

We should work towards achieving the best outcomes we can within our ability, regardless of anything else.

No one "deserves" anything, good or bad, so let's try to be good. Inflicting retribution upon our foes should only be entertained to the extent that it prevents further harm.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

There’s a town in Iowa whose mayor seat is up for the taking tonight and absolutely no one put their hat in to run. It’s a blank ballot for a write in vote. How completely apathetic can a town be?

No candidates run for office in eastern Iowa city
Voters in an eastern Iowa city will see a lot of blank spaces on their ballots today. Nobody filed to run for any of the city's open positions, including mayor and multiple city council seats.

as long as there's at least one democrat you can introduce the bill and embarrass them. it's bad press that they can only get rid of by giving in. maybe state with a federal bill then use state bills to keep the fire going

I keep thinking that a coordinated 50 state push to have democrats introduce child marriage bans, either all at once or staggered week by week to keep it in the news longer, would be a great tactic.

Once we sort out payment for our medical system, we'll still have a mountain of work to do in regards to equity of care.
Doctors knew my mom had endometriosis for 10 years before they told her. They just gaslit her whenever she went in for pain. Her organs fused together and she needed multiple surgeries to separate them when they could've just given her a hysterectomy far earlier.

You don't have a bench because you don't invest in candidates.

16,000 Republicans won their races in the 2024 election UNOPPOSED!

The Democratic Party isn't a political organization interested in running the country, it's a geriatric club's fundraising scheme.
October 15, 2025 at 2:48 PM
I'd be less concerned about the Democratic Party's grand plan to wither away and die if anyone actually recognized it and worked to supplant it.

As it is, the Democrats are openly uninterested in governing and everyone who is just assumes there's no room for motion.

If you're wondering why nothing is ever done about guns, it's because the NRA is the Republican Party's recruitment and engagement branch. It keeps their base active. It is not in their interest to threaten their own power.

We've added @runforsomething.net to all 50 our state lists and DC. People can't just organize, protest and vote. People have to run for office. If you have a friend you think would be a good communicator and legislator, send them to Run for Something. We need fighters! Find them! Encourage them!
Are you a citizen in one of the 50 states or DC? Ever thought you’d want to run for office but have no idea how to go about the whole thing?

@runforsomething.net can help!
Looking at the NYC mayoral results (😳😳😳😳😳) and thinking hey, maybe I should run for office?

Taking primaries from old monsters is pretty sweet, but you know what else is nice? Taking general elections from those who have no competitors at all. There were thousands last election who just wrote their name on the ballot and walked into office. Use this momentum to get people to run in 2026.

"Trump is not an aberration, but a continuation of business as usual." is not saying that's good; 'Business as usual' is bad and should have always been fought.

If you cannot acknowledge bad things under 'normal' times then you will allow them to continue to be bad once this 'aberration' passes.

Me not sowing: Haha fuck yeah!!! Yes!!

Me not reaping: Well this fucking sucks. What the fuck.
May 22, 2025 at 7:55 PM
The Democratic Party puts in no effort to build a base of support, refuses to adopt popular policy to gain independents, and can't even be bothered to recruit candidates to run against Republicans.

This isn't a plan to win. It's not a plan at all. They're just skating by until they're kicked out.

In light of this SAVE act BS, remember that time Nancy Pelosi personally stumped for anti-choice Henry Cuellar against a pro-choice challenger right when Roe v Wade was being overturned.

Would've been nice if she didn't do that.

Would be nice if people didn't let this garbage slide.
In Case You’re Wondering, Nancy Pelosi Is Still Supporting the Only Antiabortion House Democrat
Pelosi, whose party is trying to galvanize voters to go to the polls over abortion rights, is still backing Texas Democrat Henry Cuellar.

It's pathetic that there are so few incumbent geriatrics getting challenged that anyone can devote this much attention on a single race.
March 25, 2025 at 6:49 PM
A lot of people today talking about starting/supporting a third party don't realize it's actually an even better idea than they think. The Dems don't even show up in half the country; 84 Reps won this last election in my state by default. You can't do worse than literally not showing up.
