I wrote about the unprecedented mass censorship and surveillance laws that Congress is trying to ram through in the name of “protecting kids” and how none of this is about protecting kids. In fact, these laws cause great harm to all of us, for @zeteo.com
Social Media Is a Literal Lifeline for Many Kids. Don't Ban Them From Using It
US politicians want to replicate Australia's draconian law prohibiting children under 16 from using social media. But experts say such bans will actually make kids 'significantly less safe online.'

The devastation I feel about this attack on science in particular is hard to cope with. It’s like watching my dad die all over again. I would do anything to spare someone a death via pancreatic cancer.
A tiny trial in New York has shown that personalized mRNA vaccines can provoke massive, lasting immune responses against pancreatic cancer, even as sweeping federal cuts now threaten the fragile labs required to produce them.

It’s not tho. It’s as spurious as when spiritualists claimed you could talk to the dead via telegraph

I cannot stress emphatically enough, nor with sufficient regularity, that you're gonna have to leave corporate media behind. You are the means to its ends, and its ends are hostile to you and your way of life.

This is a clip from "GEORGE-prov" at SF Sketchfest 2 years ago. The concept of this show was that I was a digital interactive hologram ("ABBAtar" IYKYK) of Retired Filmmaker George Lucas, based on George having spent a week on a motion capture stage doing "all the improv moves."

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

Reminder that, unless a creative freelancer has a spouse with a day job that offers health insurance, they likely have an ACA plan. And with the hits to creative industries the past few years, I'm guessing many qualify for subsidies.

Related reminder that comic creators are freelancers.
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

I really need people to understand that a government this antagonistic to its own citizens that has manufactured crisis after crisis is not a government that intends to honor democratic removal. Because they know what would have to happen for the nation to heal.

It’s gonna get bad.
