Stereotypically boring: I mainly skeet about cats, food and things that annoy me.

The closest I've come to that is the time I let myself get caught up tracking some elk even though I knew I should've turned back sooner. And that just meant I hiked farther than I had planned and way after dark, which I try to avoid even though I carry a head lamp.

Even though I used to hike and want to get back into it, I still read about that stuff. I want to avoid being one of those people.

At least Barney will enjoy it?

Mine is straightforward, and I'm sure I can do it myself, but I don't want to. Part of it is timing and rain and it getting dark early, part of it is other stuff that's tl;dr and part of it is me just not wanting to deal with it right now.

I do, and mine should be the same. I'm glad you and others have asked, though, because it's become clear to me I hadn't really thought it through.

I hope you can knock it out tonight.

I watched a Lindsay Lohan Christmas movie with my 12-yo niece a few weeks ago (her request). The movie was wasn't good, but it was a great time with her.

I haven't tried to jump it because the battery sounds totally dead and, although I haven't yet checked the date on it, I wouldn't be surprised if it's time for a new one.

I have roadside assistance through my insurance, so I'll probably be partially reimbursed. I'm in Seattle; I'd guess costs may be at least as high as LA area. I'm spoiled in that my dad has always replaced batteries for me. And there's still a chance he might! But he's in bed now. 😄

I briefly temped for them many years ago—before they were well-known for being patent trolls. One of my tasks was to help send out their end-of-year holiday cards. Imagine if I'd held on to the recipient list.

For sure—students get crushes on teachers all the time! And teachers and school staff behave inappropriately with students far more often. Plus, their positions of authority make it easier for them to ignore it or shut it down in ways that might be rude if they were interacting with peers.

I don't know what he did because he used a lot of weasel words in his post, but if you're a teacher and you have a so-called "consensual encounter" with a 16-year-old—even if that's the age of consent where you live—at best, your judgment is exceedingly poor.

And don't forget: There's a good chance they're all from or married into Mafia families.

I have a distinct memory of visiting my sister when she was going to RISD and her Italian American roommate asking about my white blonde hair, "How did you get your hair that color?" (We were both goths, so yanno.) I told her, but with the caveat that my natural color is dark blonde.
