In the darkest places, look for those pinpoints of light. I’m happy to be here and no longer in the cesspit.
I don’t know why they are giving Lord Mandelson airtime on the BBC this morning, but his defence of Trump is, as he himself would put it, ‘toe curling’. It is all focussed on trying to normalise and rationalise what is going on. Very much ‘ignore the evidence of your eyes’ territory.

I call on my party and my government to remove themselves entirely from X and communicate with the public where they actually participate online and can be protected from such illegality.

Digital ID as proposed by the government this morning amounts to a ‘nothing burger’ in terms of the aim to cut illegal immigration pull factors - there are too many employers willing to risk employing illegal workers out there. They should’ve included the NHS and benefits access to have a chance.

So after travelling on a French TGV today my position on keeping dogs off Eurostar is stronger. One ‘accident’ in our carriage alone. Then another two dogs spraying the station canopy columns as soon as they got off and another s*it on the platform which people then rolled luggage through 🤮

@shelaghfogarty.bsky.social Being outside the EU puts us at risk because we can no longer trace this food back to source, and there is little risk of the foreign criminals being charged under laws to protect EU citizens - the EU is not responsible for the UKs food safety any more.

@seatsixtyone.bsky.social Does anyone know if the new rail concession (separate from main SNCF) operating in the Nice/Monaco area of Region Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur (PACA) is accepting Inter Rail and FIP? Soon to be followed by another non-SNCF concession in the Toulon area in the summer.

The laws on increased pension age were voted for in parliament by MPs. People still don't understand that they do not have a personal state pension pot; pensions paid out today are funded by taxes paid today. It is therefore a government paid benefit, alebit you earn increased rights over time.
