He's not trying to distract; he just has a ton of bad ideas, making the situation overwhelming but unintentional. Some people mistakenly assume he's strategically playing "4-D chess." Meanwhile, they underestimate how compromised and malicious he is, yet overestimate his intelligence.

They might construct the facility, but it will take 7-10 years to become fully operational and profitable. Unlike the past, manufacturing today relies heavily on robotics, not workers with lunch pails. This isn’t 1955 anymore.

Aside from causing frustration, is the goal to withdraw grants, overload the courts with lawsuits, or distract people from other activities? So far, the courts have temporarily reversed some of these actions.
Groups across the country have received letters notifying them that their grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities have been canceled, raising alarms about serious harm to museums, historical sites, and a wide range of community projects.

Almost all NOAA Research websites that rely on cloud services - including Amazon, Google and WordPress - are poised to disappear at midnight ET Saturday after a contract was targeted for "early termination." Labs may also feel the effects.

In the past, if elves went on strike, Santa would playfully retaliate by lining up ten of them like bowling pins. He'd then use a bowling ball to decide who had to return to work. On the bright side, elves could taunt him while he took aim!
i miss the early internet. people were like “you gotta see this dude. this cat sure is long.” and they were right. it was really long. it never shoulda gotten any more complicated than that.

Do you have any idea how infuriating this is for me?
The entire permanent staff of the Division of Environmental Health Science and Practice was laid off. This division addresses issues such as asthma and air pollution, climate change and health, childhood lead poisoning, and cancer clusters.
