so I spent the last month reading the textbook. finally made the revenge pie and the crust *still* fucked up, but at least I know why now (wrong flour, following recipe timing instead of observing for doneness, not chilling after shaping)
wrong idiot it's when I spent three weeks driving myself insane over pie dough, buying a fucking baking textbook in the process in an attempt to Win Thanksgiving and I did

from my experience as a corpo rat, I think there's one major indicator for a company's success: is it broadly understood and acknowledged that little to no productive work happens in December or not?

HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

There is a direct correlation between how fake your job is and how much value you see in AI
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

not to be callous but the officials posting their respect-the-troops shtick is old in the context of American gun violence. getting shot at while doing who knows what in a place you probably shouldn't be is the job description for the US military; posing it as a unique outrage is noxious

Sincere post: it is one of the greatest joys of my adult life to be able to see the magic of the holidays renewed through the eyes of a younger generation. he’s the creator of Flask. he’s literally the creator of Django. you dipshits he invented Zoop. better watch how you talk to the actual inventor of Peebo
Wow 80% bad-faith responses, and people lecturing the creator of Flask here and the creator of Django/datasette in the comments on why AI is useless for software engineering...
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

Last skeet on the subject: I don't think he wants to make movies. I think he wants to make 4.5/10 tie-in games for action movies which largely play themselves and was cursed by a genie to be a creative(tm) with three ideas

yeah I'm not going to bother finishing the fight with the boss. It's just the Fury again with a timer and an obnoxious new quick time event mechanic. I'm coming away from this wondering how this game ever got the acclaim it did. did people just remember the ideas, but not the execution?

I'm coming up on the final part of MGS3 (caveat: as delta). I think it's the weakest entry of the series for me and it's not close. the ratio of cutscenes and gimmicks to actual gameplay is not great
