Cool, cool. From the best economy in the world to a self-inflicted recession in 4 months.

Gotta be some kind of record.

Healey was this morning unable to discuss the world in a meaningful way. He was reduced to saying things were bad out there without being able to say why. Even though we know why and we know that he knows why. It made him sound insane.

Your huge belly laugh of the night: Trump is throwing Vance under the bus.

Trump is planning to put Vance in charge of a task force to tackle the spiralling prices and other systemic shocks caused by Trump’s insane tariff war with China.

Hint: there is no solution. But Vance gets the blame.

This is an interesting one, supermarkets send a letter to the EU calling for a UK deal on food and drink trade. But I'd suggest the real audience, and indeed organiser, is rather closer to home, as in the UK government building up domestic support. www.ft.com/content/687f...

Jeez. A clip has emerged of Donald Trump in the Oval Office discussing how people made money in the recent market fluctuations as a result of his tariffs.

"He made two-and-a-half billion today, and he made nine hundred million, that's not bad!"

It’s pretty insane, when you think about it, that billionaires with no expertise in politics or science get to influence policy.

Unresolved trauma.
Too much money.
No training.
No expertise.

Let that sink in.

Russian deep sea spying is a problem

“Ninety% of our data comes from the sea and 60% of gas comes from Norway by one line so you can see how vulnerable we are…The scale of damage [they could do] is enormous and it’s deniable and it’s cheap to do. That’s the worrying dimension of all of this.”

4. YESTERDAY AND TODAY

And while this happened, the man responsible for it was golfing and dining with enemies of America.

Because we’re out of the EU, Trump is only giving us 10 strokes of the cane instead of 20 but we’re still hurting from the 60 strokes we got from Brexit.

Trump is charging 10% tariffs on UK goods & 20% on EU goods.

It was estimated that 20% tariffs would cost UK 0.8% GDP.
So let's say today's tariffs will cost 0.4%.

So Brexit saved us 0.4% in US trade, but cost us 4% in EU trade.

Anyone calling Trump tariffs a "Brexit Success" CAN'T FUCKING COUNT!
