States that have executive orders overriding COVID vaccine prescription requirement: CO, MA, NM, NY, PA

States that still have COVID vaccine prescription requirements (call your reps!): AZ, DC, FL, GA, KY, LA, ME, NC, UT, VA, WV

You can't access COVID vaccines in NV even with a prescription.

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

I lived for several years in rural cattle country in Central Africa, where milk was a major part of the diet. All the milk was either boiled or fermented to make it safe. Always. No one ever drank raw milk.

I hate weighing in on the guns issue. Despite being an owner myself who has many armed family members, I have many complicated feelings about firearms.

That said, the government saying “this marginalized community shouldn’t be armed” is usually a sign that they should be.

This is why:

I don't expect everyone to know our five billion holidays, but rosh hashanah, yom kippur, and the first seder of Passover is a reasonable place to start.

A quick Google is your friend.
PUT 👏🏻 JEWISH 👏🏻 HOLIDAYS 👏🏻 IN 👏🏻 YOUR 👏🏻 CALENDARS

The head of my org is Jewish. I have the Jewish holidays calendar on my work calendar so I don't schedule meetings during important holidays! I don't want him to have to do that calculus!
NASA scheduled a major workshop for early career researchers during the most important week of the Jewish calendar, during two of the most important days of that week and expects me to accept that this was “difficult scheduling conflicts”

That’s what casual antisemitism sounds like

My company scheduled next year's off-site for the week before Passover.

It's okay, I guess sometimes things are planned last-minute and you don't always have time to check everything in advance.

Historical coroner reports btw show drowning as an *incredibly* common cause of death
The making measles great again crowd is at it again:

Drowning is ...."the leading cause of death among children ages 1 to 4 & is one of the top causes of death among children ages 5 to 14. A single drowning costs millions of dollars in terms of medical costs and societal loss"
Being pro-drowning of children seems like a real are-we-the-baddies moment www.npr.org/sections/sho...

i live in a purple county in pa and let me tell you that while support for the governor is pretty high, there is currently no one in the state more disliked than fetterman, and i'm being *nice* in my language here.
John Fetterman when asked about timing of vote that will cost millions health care and food on the table, destroy industries and jobs:

"Oh my God, I just want to go home... I've missed our entire trip to to the beach."

Yes. I am right. I am seeing how Chat GPT is ruining students critical thinking and writing skills in real time. It is not the future. It is a tool designed to render the populace helpless, to make people doubt their innate intelligence, and to foster overreliance on technology.
@roxanegay.bsky.social maybe you’re right.

Here’s an update from the team. I’m still heading over to find out what ICE is doing
Can confirm, as @ByJackHarris reported, that ICE agents attempted to access Dodger Stadium this morning but were denied by the Dodgers.

Images had circulated this morning of agents appearing to use the parking lots as a staging area.
