The BBC has apologised for Radio 4 broadcasting a critique of Robert Jenrick MP saying "I certainly don't want my daughters to live in a neighbourhood with men from a backward country" which said "these words echo a fear many people have - fear of a stranger .. the technical word is xenophobia"

The problem with so many institutional approaches to inclusion is it is more ‘come on in, let’s help you look more like us’ than ‘come on in, let’s enrich each other as we journey together’.
There’s no inclusion if we’re not prepared to change.

FEBRUARY 19, 2025 -- At an event held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria, Egypt -- and which celebrated Alexandrian and Egyptian authors -- translator and scholar Mona Baker announced the shortlist of this year's International Prize for Arabic Fiction (IPAF).
