I remember the half bricks thrown by Rotherham fans falling around me when I was 12 years old at Belle Vue, in the early '80s. He's a delusional prick.
Jenrick casting 1980s British football hooliganism as something that was easily dealt with by police and not an era defining issue which we're still living with the consequences of today... He's genuinely the most unserious person in British politics rn

My Nursery Fish Pie is #RecipeOfTheDay! I gave it this name as it’s a cosily unsophisticated version, the sort with peas and cheese, and just so comforting. www.nigella.com/recipes/nurs...
Nursery Fish Pie
There are certain days when only something soothing and comforting and topped with mash potato will do; on such days, this pie could make you weep with gratitude.

The age of mergers was a huge mistake. Competition is the crucial factor in capitalism and replacing it with "more efficient" monopolies is a chief reason we are in the mess we are. The Clinton Administration certainly encouraged mergers, along with every other Presidency, for the past 50 years.

Just in case you don’t get it, the less competition there is, the more they can control the prices.

Five corporations control 90% of the US media market.

Airlines merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today.

Four giants control 80% of meat processing.

A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry.

The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere.

The "monsters" see themselves as a new race of titans - the fates of mere mortals are of no concern, even as they talk about the future of humanity. We haven't shown them enough gratitude, and will feel their wrath.

And a very special #CookbookCorner shout out for Chocolat: Parisian Desserts and Other Delights by Aleksandra Crapanzano! I adored Gâteau, her previous book, and I’m happy to say this is every bit as enchanting and beautifully written. One for the Christmas list, mes amis! 🤎

As well as the brilliant writing and evocative stories in Anna Ansari's new book, Silk Roads, the recipes are fabulous too. Kicked things off by making a dish of Uyghur ziran doufu (cumin tofu), and loved its aromatic spices and kick of heat against the crispy tofu cubes. Can't wait to try again! 🔥
