Love how train travel these days means listening to 90 seconds of exactly what tickets they WONT accept on the train. It's like walking into a shop and having someone yell "WE DON'T TAKE MASTERCARD" the second you're through the door.

On the upside maybe the new tax will make bigger homes less appealing and depress the price below the thresholds so the owners won't have to pay it. Then everyone would win!

X files update - Season 4 starts with the end of a two parter and then we're straight on to "Home". One I have distinct memories of someone taping off Sky for me and going "Ewwww" at. It is indeed very grim but there's still some genuinely funny bits in here that I wasn't expecting.

You just died.

The 6th picture in your phone gallery is what killed you.

Just seen an AI generated ad.for fucking POTATOES with an AI Andy Murray. Shitty garbage, I hate it.

More X-Files rewatch updates - as good as the core duo is, it's the recurring cast members that make this thing shine. It's easy to forget just how much of an utter BASTARD the Cigarette Smoking Man is, or how Skinner delivers every line through clenched teeth like he's an inch away from murder.

Just had a clip of Neighbours thrown at me on Facebook and it looks a lot like they're going to end it by having a freeway built through Ramsay Street. Amazing.

It's not as much dopamine as "a bit boat is stuck in the big canal" but it's good enough.
So this happened in Oslo yesterday. Four articulated buses got stuck in a roundabout.

It is never a bad time to remind the world that Girls Aloud's "Biology" is both amazing AND a bafflingly constructed thing. What structure is this thing? Are there two choruses nested in each other? Feels like it ought to be a mess but it absolutely is not.

It's not even an original game, it's just Apples to Apples but someone's written "cancer" and "anus" on half the cards.
"Oh you hate Cards Against Humanity? Well it's not exactly for the EASILY OFFENDED" oh really coz when it comes out at a party and I go "I ain't playing that witless shit" OOOO THE OFFENCE! Calm down, dickheads, YOU didn't come up with anything in the game.

X Files continues - Jose Chung's From Outer Space is clever and funny, taking the show's premise and managing to both point and laugh at it AND give one of the show's more sinister alien abduction stories, overlapping and bleeding into each other. Also Jesse Ventura is there.

I lost both my parents a few years ago, so I have some experience with inheritance tax. I didn't have to pay any inheritance tax (because the threshold is really very high), but if I *did* then I would have still had a bunch of money I didn't do any work to get, just less.
I don't think this was actually deliberately published as ragebait, but the entitlement contained within is remarkable and a classic example of the sort of sentiment governments sometimes just have to face down inews.co.uk/inews-lifest...?
We were hit with a £148k inheritance tax bill when mum died at 97 - it's disgusting
Jill Lemon has labelled inheritance tax as 'cruel', 'horrible' and 'unfair'

X Files rewatch has arrived at Pusher. If you went back in time and told me "The guy who wrote this is going to be one of the most critically acclaimed TV writers of all time" I'd absolutely believe you.

Went to a chain pub for a meal three weeks ago and because I used their app to order I have been harassed several times a week since then with automated emails asking when I'm going back. When did pubs get needy?

Started my X Files rewatch back up again, mid series 3. This is definately when the show was at it's absolute peak and it's still great. And I guess it was shot on film because the remastered widescreen episodes on Prime Video are gorgeous.

I long for the day when I no longer have to hear, see or read anything about Richard Tice ever again.

Rear Window as a lightgun shooter.
Fewer live-action versions of computer games. More computer games of classic live-action films. I want a first-person-shooter version of Rita Sue and Bob Too.

Eventually Labour will work out that no matter how far they turn the racism dial while looking to the audience for approval, they can't turn it as far as Reform will. Because Reform's dial goes to 11.

Today I learned Caravaggio created one of the 90s most popular t shirts
Once again thinking about Caravaggio (yes, the painter) and his inscribed sword that he would use in gang fights against rival art groups.

"Without hope, without fear," holy shit, dude.

Look, this recipe is good overall but describing the constituency of something as almost like a thinner version of something else feels like it's too many layers.

Do you remember when if you wanted to know anything about the people involved in a show you liked, or some element of it's production you had to go looking for it instead of there always being a podcast about it? I like Gillan and Darville, I think they're good but there's just so MUCH of EVERYTHING
