I know this is not a unique observation but public health was basically created to deal with the Spanish flu, and then a century later COVID hit and killed twice as many people and our response was to destroy public health

While the nation has plenty of real problems to deal with, Trump is ignoring them to manufacture fake emergencies.

@friendlyatheist.com Randall Balmer is coming out with a new book called America’s Best Idea: Separation of Church and State. He’s an historian of religion who teaches at Dartmouth. He’d be a great interview, or at least his book would be worth reviewing. I believe it is in pre-order now.

I’m so confused by the folks who said that raising the minimum wage would increase the price of every day goods while also being okay with tariffs raising the price of every day goods…
I reckon they are okay paying higher prices as long as it doesn’t help anyone making a minimum wage.
