It took me about three months to get here but...

Here's a 🪶 for (nearly) every species of bird, with colors extracted from wikipedia descriptions.

It's Monday so here's my @FT column on an epic new podcast on Fela Kuti, hosted by Jad Abumrad, which examines the Afrobeat pioneer's life, loves, sounds and politics. The series is vast and wide-ranging and, after 12 eps, I still didn't want it to end. www.ft.com/content/2737...

BBC Archive just uploaded The Lonely Shore (1962), a surreal 15-minute short that takes the form of a scientific report from an abandoned and desolate future Britain. Written by Jacquetta Hawkes, an actual archaeologist, and directed by Ken Russell, an actual madman.

This one is really tough, but I'll give it a try...

- Candyman (1992)
- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
- Suspiria (1977)
- The Lost Boys
Quote this with the first four Horror movies that come to your mind that are 10/10s for you. No cheating. Just the first four that pop into your head.

Not planets, not moons, but... pancakes! A project by designer Nadine Schlieper and photographer Robert Pufleb. Their 'Alternative Moons Pancakes' were made with 500 ml of buttermilk, 3 eggs, 1 pinch of salt, 6 heaped tablespoons of flour, and 1 teaspoon of sunflower oil for each pancake 🌕 🥞 🌻 🧪

I think reading the comments to this is the most entertained I have been on Bluesky ever.
the NYT will get shit for this but they're right, I've noticed it multiple times and discussed it with several immigrant friends, British dishes are so often put out to dry while still a bit soapy, to the best of my knowledge no one else in the world does that, why do you guys do that
Apparently, not everyone (those based in the UK, specifically) rinses the suds off their dishes after washing them. nyti.ms/42jIooE

I posted a clip of a low budget BBC Belle & Sebastian documentary that I was involved in the making of that had the late Ray Brooks narrating and a few people asked if the whole documentary was available to watch anywhere.
