And that's not even touching how Norway's oil fund is worth $2.76 trillion while Alberta's Heritage Savings Trust Fund has been "expertly" managed by consecutive right-wing governments to be worth $27 billion. Alberta and Norway have approximately the same populations.

If the govt can just dictate the terms of a contract—skipping past binding arbitration and legislating away recourse rights—and the public accepts that, well, then what reason would govt have to bargain in good faith with any public sector employees going forward?

Dark day indeed. Not acceptable.
The legislation is supposed to embargoed until tabled, but if this is accurate…

Smith is invoking the notwithstanding clause to force teachers back to work.

Which is an admission that she is violating charter rights.

It is a dark day in Alberta.

The simple truth: Under the UCP, wait times have only increased. This is unacceptable.

We need a government that is focused on giving Albertans the healthcare they need when they need it.
The UCP government is known for chaos, cuts, and corruption. It’s cruel. Health care should be there for all of us when we need it. Instead, the UCP is pushing privatization, leading to worse health outcomes.

The UCP is facing 8 investigations into corruption, plus no fewer than 3 major public sector union strikes (all of their own making).

The affordability crisis looms, as does a trade war with the US.

Wildfires & measles are raging.

And the premier chose now to clear a path for a separation vote.
