Today, on Remembrance Day we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who defended our freedoms around the world.

We honour the generations of Canadians who gave their lives in service, as well as those who returned carrying wounds both visible and invisible.

The suspension of obstetrical services in Cold Lake is unacceptable. Families in Cold Lake and across Alberta deserve access to safe, reliable care close to home, not months of uncertainty.

Danielle Smith and the UCP govt have failed to properly support rural health care. #abhealth #ableg #abpoli

Flu season is here! Protect yourself and those around you.

I got my flu shot to help keep my family and friends healthy. It only takes a few minutes, but it makes a big difference.

Vaccines are one of the most effective tools we have to prevent illness and protect the most vulnerable among us.

Today, on National Indigenous Veterans Day, we honour the strength, courage, and resilience of Métis, First Nations, and Inuit veterans who served Canada.

Their service and sacrifice have too often gone unrecognized, yet their contributions are woven into the fabric of our shared history.

Yesterday I had the great honour of joining Citizenship Judge James Clover to welcome 68 new Canadians from 28 countries! 🇨🇦

It’s always such a moving experience to witness people from around the world take the Oath of Citizenship and officially become Canadians.

I had such a fun time trick-or-treating in Edmonton-Glenora last week! 🎃 It was great to see so many creative and spooky costumes out in the community. 👻🕸️

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween. #ThrowbackThursday

It was wonderful to take part in Stollery Day at the Legislature again earlier this week. 💜

I met Harper, her sister Kinsley, and their parents, an incredible family full of strength and love. Harper was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy Type 1 when she was just seven months old…

Yesterday in the Legislature, I asked Danielle Smith why health care keeps getting worse under her watch.

When she became Premier, she promised to fix it within months. However wait times are up, family doctors are harder to find, and health care workers are burning out. #abhealth #ableg #abpoli

Last year emergency departments in Alberta were closed for more than 34,000 hours. Of those emergency departments that were open, over 200,000 Albertans gave up before seeing a doctor.

Albertans deserve a govt that will actually work with frontline staff to fix the problems. #abhealth #ableg #ableg

Too many Albertans are working harder than ever but still struggling to make ends meet. That’s why Alberta’s New Democrats have introduced Bill 201, legislation to raise the minimum wage, end the unfair youth minimum wage, and ensure service workers keep the tips they earn. #ableg #abpoli

Respiratory illness season is now upon us and hospitals in Edmonton and Calgary are already beyond full. The UCP government could have shown leadership in respect of public health workers. Instead they fired some and silenced others, resulting in the largest measles outbreak in North America.

It was such an honour to attend the swearing-in of the newly elected Edmonton Public School Board trustees with my colleagues yesterday! Congratulations to Holly Nichol on being elected to represent Ward C, and to all trustees who will serve our students and families over the next four years.

Does the Minister of Hospitals agree with his colleague that medical professionals' experience and expertise must be central to public health decisions?

He didn’t answer. 👀 Watch to the end for the Minister of Children’s letter.

Teachers, we love you. ❤️

I know today is hard. You’ve been forced back into the same overcrowded, underfunded classrooms that led to this strike. It didn’t have to be this way.

Danielle Smith chose to trample on your rights by using the notwithstanding clause to silence you instead of listening.
October 29, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Danielle Smith is using the notwithstanding clause to silence Albertans. Undermining our freedoms to avoid accountability is cowardly and wrong.

Alberta’s New Democrats will always stand up for teachers and the rights of all Albertans.

A teacher who wishes to stay anonymous wrote this poem and asked me to share it. 🧡

Teachers want to be back in school, but they want better for our children.

This UCP government needs to properly fund public education. Students and teachers deserve a fair deal and real solutions. #abed #ableg

Thursday was powerful. ✊

Tens of thousands of teachers, parents, and students filled the Legislature grounds, demanding respect and a fair deal for those who make our classrooms possible.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Let’s Talk Affordability town hall with my colleagues @davideggenab.bsky.social and Brooks Arcand-Paul

We had an honest, heartfelt conversation about what so many Albertans are feeling: how tough it’s become to make ends meet under this UCP government.

Happy Flashback Friday! Last weekend, I had the pleasure to attend the Canora Community League Hall Retrofit and Revitalization Groundbreaking ceremony.

Community Leagues are important hubs for families and neighbours, and this project will help make Canora a better neighbourhood for everyone.

Danielle Smith promised to fix the healthcare system in 90 days. Two years later, far too many Albertans don’t have access to the care they need, and they are tired of waiting for surgeries, scans and tests.

The cuts, chaos, and corruption continues.

The UCP told us that we would see a draft report of the Corrupt Care investigation on May 30th. Then they said June, then September, then October 15th.

Well, that day has come and gone.

We have been calling for a fully independent public inquiry.

Wishing everyone a warm and peaceful Thanksgiving. 🦃🍁

I hope you’re able to take some time to rest, reflect, and share gratitude with the people who make your life brighter. Let’s also remember those who could use a little extra care and kindness this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This Thanksgiving weekend, I’m reflecting on the incredible resilience of Alberta communities, especially those who’ve faced so much in recent years.

A couple of weeks ago, our caucus gathered in Jasper for our retreat. Driving through the area south of town...
