Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Edmonton-Decore | Shadow Minister for Primary & Preventative Health Services.
I spoke with the Edmonton Journal about Canada losing its measles elimination status — the only G7 country to do so.

40% of outbreaks are in Alberta, where the UCP blocked its top doctor from urging vaccines.

Politics should never come before public health.

“Measles is a disease of the human race. There is no animal reservoir, no insect vector, and only one antigenic strain.

Measles is not only preventable—it can be eliminated, given the necessary resources and drive.”

Dr. John Enders, also known as the “Father of Modern Vaccines”

Families, seniors, and patients deserve better.

Alberta is facing outbreaks and waitlists while the government fails to provide clear leadership.

Decisions must be based on science and expert advice, not politics.

Albertans used to get COVID-19 vaccines easily and for free at pharmacies.

Now access is limited, confusing, and costly. Some must travel hours to get a dose.

Vaccines are basic preventative care. They shouldn’t be this hard, and this government has no plan to fix it.

Smith is silencing the investigators.

Fired the AHS CEO & the entire board for looking into corruption.

Now firing the Auditor General for exposing corruption.

When you fire the watchdogs, it's not about efficiency—it's about avoiding accountability.
Braid: UCP rejects auditor general as he races to finish health scandal report
A UCP committee votes to replace auditor general Doug Wylie, the key person investigating the health contract scandal, writes Don Braid.

My sincere thanks to all who joined the Leader of the Official Opposition Naheed Nenshi and me at the Edmonton-Decore New Democrats AGM.

The incredible energy, support, and camaraderie on display were truly inspiring.

It's a powerful reminder that better is possible.

I pressed the Minister on the chaos this government has created in Alberta’s vaccination program.

Albertans are confused, frustrated, and being told to pay for vaccines that should be free!

This is a failure to protect public health.

Excited to see our newly sworn-in Edmonton City Council today!

To the educators of this province.

Thank you for standing up for the most vital part of our future, our children.

Remember that you are on the right side of history.

Carry that truth with you. Let it ease any doubt or hardship you feel.

You have our deepest gratitude for all you have done.

A shameful first for Alberta. The UCP is using the Notwithstanding Clause to force teachers back to work and impose a contract 90% rejected.

This is an attack on workers' rights and a distraction from their failure to fund our classrooms.

We condemn this abuse of power.

When a teacher's lunch hour is not their own, it underscores a system that stretched them to limit.

This level of pressure is unsustainable & doesn’t lead to better education outcomes.

That is why I stand with teachers for better support.

The premier should start listening!

Albertans are voicing deep frustrations about the current vaccination booking for COVID19 & influenza.

The process is broken, inequitable, & inaccessible, creating unnecessary barriers.

The UCP government policies are failing Albertans in accessing essential public health.

This morning at 6am, a fire broke out at Amity House in Dickensfield.
Thankfully, no one was hurt.
They’re currently looking for a temporary space in the neighbourhood.

I’m honoured to serve as the new Shadow Minister for Primary & Preventative Health Services.

I will continue standing up for Albertans and fighting to protect and strengthen public health care so it is accessible for every family when they need it most.

Albertans deserve better.

Our healthcare system is being deliberately dismantled.

✖️ Fragmenting services.
✖️ Diverting public funds to for-profit corps.
✖️ Ignoring and alienating our health experts.

Market-driven care creates inequity and costs more to the public.

We must reverse this UCP dangerous course.

Alberta has world-class vaccine infrastructure & highly trained health professionals to deliver.

Charging seniors for a COVID19 vaccine? That’s a barrier to access & a public health risk.

When cost prevents people who need the most from getting vaccinated, we all pay the price.

Thank you to every Albertan who put their name on the ballot.

To volunteers who powered campaigns. To voters who made their voice heard.

As we await the final results, let's not forget It's 2025.

Alberta is a leader in innovation & should lead modernizing its voting process.

Our license plates are not broken.

Fix the budget holes in our public education system.

Support our teachers!

This Thanksgiving, I offer my deepest thanks to the teaching community.

To my teachers, my children's teachers.

To every educator who stands as a defender and advocate for students.

Your work is our blessing, and I’m grateful!

The latest MNP report shows Albertans are being forced to choose between groceries and heating their homes this winter.

Costs are rising, families are struggling, and this government is doing nothing.

No plan. No relief. No leadership

More Albertans are making sacrifices to their food or energy consumption than any other province, a report from MNP shows.

Moments like receiving heartfelt cards from children in my constituency remind me why I do what I do everyday.

It is to serve, to listen, and to make a difference in the lives of those I represent in the Legislative Assembly.

Teachers strike means empty classrooms.

For many kids, it also means empty plates. They're missing the nutrition they relied on at school.

This was preventable. It's time to FUND Public Schools fairly.
