Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Edmonton-Decore | Shadow Minister for Primary & Preventative Health Services.
The Auditor General’s report confirms what Albertans feared:

The UCP’s DynaLife privatization scheme was a costly failure!

$125 million wasted, wait times up, repeated errors at the cost of Albertans, and yet they still push a two-tiered health care system?

Absolutely shameful.

The UCP’s push for a two-tier, American-style system is a terrible idea.

It threatens access, won’t cut wait times, and widens inequity. Instead of strengthening public health care, this plan prioritizes who can pay.

Leaked documents show the UCP pushing Alberta towards a two-tiered, privatized system.

I challenged the Minister today and got denial instead of answers.

With 1M Albertans without a family doctor, we need public health care strengthened now, not undermined!

Vaccine preventable diseases are back such as Measles.

This is a critical moment for Alberta's public health leadership.

I have written to Minister LaGrange outlining the necessary public health steps needed.

Read my full letter to the Minister.

Today, we honour the soldiers whose bravery, sacrifice, and service secured the freedoms we hold dear.

We remember their courage, reflect on their sacrifice, and recommit to protecting the peace they fought to preserve.

Lest we forget

I spoke with the Edmonton Journal about Canada losing its measles elimination status — the only G7 country to do so.

40% of outbreaks are in Alberta, where the UCP blocked its top doctor from urging vaccines.

Politics should never come before public health.

Families, seniors, and patients deserve better.

Alberta is facing outbreaks and waitlists while the government fails to provide clear leadership.

Decisions must be based on science and expert advice, not politics.

Albertans used to get COVID-19 vaccines easily and for free at pharmacies.

Now access is limited, confusing, and costly. Some must travel hours to get a dose.

Vaccines are basic preventative care. They shouldn’t be this hard, and this government has no plan to fix it.

My sincere thanks to all who joined the Leader of the Official Opposition Naheed Nenshi and me at the Edmonton-Decore New Democrats AGM.

The incredible energy, support, and camaraderie on display were truly inspiring.

It's a powerful reminder that better is possible.

I pressed the Minister on the chaos this government has created in Alberta’s vaccination program.

Albertans are confused, frustrated, and being told to pay for vaccines that should be free!

This is a failure to protect public health.

This morning at 6am, a fire broke out at Amity House in Dickensfield.
Thankfully, no one was hurt.
They’re currently looking for a temporary space in the neighbourhood.

Moments like receiving heartfelt cards from children in my constituency remind me why I do what I do everyday.

It is to serve, to listen, and to make a difference in the lives of those I represent in the Legislative Assembly.

If you are young albertan who is struggling to find a job, this is NOT YOUR FAULT.

If you are a young albertan who is paid the lowest wage in Canada, it is NOT YOUR FAULT.

The economic environment and the UCP policies are to be blamed.

40% of Albertan children are living in homes without enough to eat.
Albertan children are going to school hungry.

This is not acceptable

Across Canada, provinces are raising minimum wages this October to help workers.

In Alberta, the UCP refuses to act. Minimum wage has been frozen at $15 since 2018, the lowest in the country.

Families are struggling with rising rent and groceries while the government does nothing.

Unacceptable!

Building inclusive communities starts with housing.

Honoured to join a roundtable with Janis Irwin , Lorne Dach , the Intentional Community Consortium.

We discussed expanding affordable, accessible housing for Albertans with developmental disabilities.

Better is possible!

Alberta's unemployment is the second highest in Canada, at 8.4%, the highest in 50 yrs.

Just in July & August 31,000 jobs in Alberta GONE!

Youth unemployment is now 28% . Yes, that is 1 in 3 young Albertans is unemployed.

Premier, quit blaming everyone. This is your record.
