NCAR is quite literally our global mothership.

Everyone who works in climate and weather has passed through its doors and benefited from its incredible resources.

Dismantling NCAR is like taking a sledgehammer to the keystone holding up our scientific understanding of the planet.

Unbelievable.

Just discovered something very surprising.
The last time Tampa broke a daily record low was 2015 - 10 years ago!!
Makes this week’s 133 year record low all the more impressive!
I’ll post the receipt in the comments.

As warming increases, we are already accelerating past some well-known #climate tipping points - points of no return - while others are approaching fast. These tipping points mark critical forks in the road.
Until now most changes have been manageable, but… 1/

11 US states met 51-120% of their electricity demand for the year between mid 2024-2025 with just clean, renewable sources. Of these, 10 had electricity prices at least 2 c/kWh below the US avg

Nuclear is roughly five times the cost of wind and solar, it also requires 11 to 12 times the lead time. That means you could install and generate between 55 and 60 kWh of renewable energy for each dollar spent, by the time you'd be ready to generate just 1 kWh from a nuke.
