For those unaware, "bean mouths" are a term linked to a term called "CalArts style," which has actually NO connection to CalArts graduates and was coined by former animator and rapist John K. to criticize artists who opted to Disney's style. And NOBODY really knows how they got connected.

For years people have been asking me why I can't "separate the art from the artist" when it comes to Harry Potter, and Princess Weekes perfectly illustrates how intrinsically tied Rowling's fucked-up ideology is to EVERYTHING SHE'S MADE. Highly recommend watching this video!

Capitalism yearns to create the "apolitical consumer"; one with no principles, no morals, no red line that they won't cross, no issue too big for them to ignore. We should commend all media that pierces this veil, because the veil is dangerous and lets fascism creep into every facet of our lives.
this is why i've always struggled with DTRPG as a platform, and why i dont think my career couldve taken off without itchio. this really exposes the mealy-mouthed conclusion of an """apolitical""" stance

One thing that really stuck out for me was the quote at the end about being how being unique makes you feel alone. I think that's what the movie should have ultimately been about. And it's kind of ironic bc nobody seems to share my sentiments and that makes ME feel alone lol.
I saw Elio yesterday, and while it was a beautifully animated movie with some cool characters I felt it was a little... jumbled? Like there were several different plots kind of interspersed throughout the film and they never got the full attention they needed. Does anyone else feel that way?

I can’t really explain it but the lack of color in contemporary movies, the need for realism, ai being pushed as art and people accepting it as art, mainstream movies/stories becoming very on the nose and surface level, and the rise of fascism, are all related
