Update: this is no longer included in the final funding deal. I'm going to keep fighting to lower premiums and ensure Republicans can’t get away with a backdoor national abortion ban.

Spineless. Shameful. Bullshit.

Last night, eight Senate Democrats sold the American people out, allowing 137,000 Iowans and 21 million Americans to see their healthcare premiums skyrocket.

I’m not going to mince my words: Senate Dems caved and Chuck Schumer let it happen. It’s time for him to go.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

This is predatory capitalism. They gave tax breaks to billionaires so that folks could get bills like this for healthcare.
I thought my new health insurance premium was going to be $350 per month until I got this letter informing me that it would be $1,228.28 PER MONTH. I CURRENTLY PAY $50. Is my math mathing? Is that.... a 2,356.42% increase?

2256.42%????

Senate Democrats need to hold the line. No healthcare, no deal.

Caving on a deal that doesn’t fix health care is, and always has been, a giant betrayal of the American people.

Hold the line. Save health care. I’m a NO on anything that doesn’t extend ACA subsidies.
