It remains insane to me that DOGE was treated at the time as an impressive shock and awe accomplishment - “you can’t deny he’s getting stuff done!” - and then instantly memory holed by the press once if became clear it was a total failure by every possible standard including Musk’s own

Pretty sure most people see prosperity in relative rather than absolute terms. If they're not earning more than their neighbour or that guy they hate, it won't register as much of an improvement.
Weird thing: the UK minimum wage has risen against inflation for years. It's now really high. Millions of people are earning more than they were as a direct result of this policy. And the impact on the vibes of the country is… entirely absent?

With seven attackers out and three away games this week, had a lot of tired heads and legs, not as sharp as usual, could have used better subs, were a bit slow on their goals, but dug in. Feels like two points dropped but will be a useful point down the stretch.

I'm often confused. Just gonna keep a running list of things that baffle me.
1. Standing on escalators/moving walkways. You've just been sitting for hours. Once you reach something moving you lose all will to aid your own locomotion, staring off vacantly, blocking those trying to pass. Who hurt you?
