Since folks often ask for examples of how I politely push back when doctors don't understand the clinical significance of "shit that should be taken more seriously in people with a specific condition", I'll share the reply I wrote:
Thanks for getting back to me! The finding I am most interested in clinically pursuing is the venous occlusion (most particularly the upper cervical internal jugular veins, but also the left occipital emissary vein dehiscence). I know the finding is common in non-symptomatic patients as well and not always a matter of clinical concern, but the literature does show a slowly emerging connection with cerebral venous outflow deficiency, particularly the central jugular vein, and symptoms of IIH, including the pulsatile tinnitus that's my primary manifestation, in patients with Ehlers Danlos, mast cell activation disorders, and POTS (all of which I have). The description in the literature of symptoms of various venous outflow deficiency disorders in patients with one or more of those three disorders also match a number of my other symptoms, including the postural triggers for the pulsatile tinnitus worsening, the location of the headache that often follows it, most of the minor vision/perceptual issues, and the general worsening of postural orthostatic intolerance episodes I've experienced in the last year. Given that, would you recommend following up with you, or with a neurologist or vascular specialist who's more familiar with the effects of venous outflow deficiency in patients with Ehlers-Danlos? And if the latter, do you have any recommendations?

The macro workshop @mhedin.bsky.social and I taught yesterday in Anza-Borrego was great fun. After class time in the morning we wandered the desert for subjects. Among those were these amazing 3 mm. planthopper nymphs which I am calling Shaving Brush Bugs. We found them under rocks. 🐙🌿📷 #insects

It is very, very important that Admin Scholars are very, very clear right now these e-mails are wildly unlawful. Russ Vought and Elon Musk trying to terrify and harass government employees, and they need to know that these e-mails are the very definition of arbitrary and capricious action.
