So, looks like NaNoWriMo is now defunct. For anyone who was on the inside of the goings on this is not surprising. I didn’t use it at all last year because of their awful response to community concerns and I’m proud of my choice. I will continue to do my own thing and look for community elsewhere.

Inkitt have always shady. There were huge issues with their sponsorship for NaNoWriMo in 2022.

I think what's disappointing about the Nanowrimo shit is that everyone focues on the AI sponsor and not the fact that they ONLY REASON they had to resort to that was the grooming allegations in the website's youth forum

NaNoWriMo got what it fucking deserved for the AI shit, but the allegations of predatory behaviour by a kids forum moderator were not just random baseless attacks from the fucking fascists, and their response was neither timely nor thorough.
